The CrimNet database continues to grow adding jurisdictions and records to its coverage. Although not a substitute for a county or statewide criminal records search of an applicant’s residence history, CrimNet can identify criminal records outside the jurisdictions where the applicant has lived; and therefore, is a great enhancement and a tremendous screening tool that should not be overlooked. County Criminal Searches

In addition to data filing delays, repositories can be extremely slow in processing and returning criminal record requests.

Criminal Federal

Federal crimes, such as bank robbery, wire fraud, drug trafficking, hate crimes, and any crime committed on Federal property, are unique. Over 60 percent of Federal Criminal records are drug related. They can only be uncovered by searching within the 93 Federal jurisdictions and will not be reflected in local county criminal records.
